The Annual Financial Statement (AFS) is a crucial document for the transparent and efficient administration of Grama Panchayats in Kerala. It is a precise consolidation of all income and expenditure accounts of the Panchayat during a financial year.

As per the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, the Annual Financial Statement is the official account book prepared after the completion of each financial year (April 1 to March 31), detailing the actual income and expenditure of that year.

Its primary objectives are to evaluate the financial stability of the Panchayat, maintain financial transparency with the public and the government, and eliminate corruption.
